Zutaten

4 large croissants

200g cooked ham, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Anleitungen

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Slice each croissant in half horizontally, but not all the way through, keeping a hinge.

In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with Dijon mustard, chopped chives, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Spread a generous amount of the butter mixture inside each croissant.

Layer the sliced ham on the bottom half of each croissant, followed by a substantial amount of grated Gruyère cheese.

Close the croissants, pressing gently, and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Brush the tops of the croissants with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
